About Richard C. Hurst

Richard was born in 1958 in Southern California.  Directly out of high school Richard received his real estate license, moved to the Mendocino Coast and jumped feet first into the world of real estate.

Richard belonged to the Coastal Mendocino Board of Realtors and served on the board of directors for the Coastal Mendocino Realtors Multiple Listing Service, helping to develop rules and bylaws for the newly formed Board.

By the mid 80's Richard's new family responsibilities took him into corporate outside sales.  The highlights of this period was developing new markets for existing products and development of new state of the art products for the agricultural industry while working for Macro Plastics, Inc.  Richard was directly responsible for the introduction of state of the art large high pressure injection molded plastic picking and fermentation bins which are now the industry standard.

Still working for Macro Plastics, in the early 90's Richard moved his young family to Yakima, Washington, the "Apple Capital of the United States" There he continued to introduce and help develop marketing strategies for existing field harvest plastic bins and assisted in the development, design and marketing of new high pressure injection molded picking bins which meet the demand specifications of the local Apple, Pear and Cherry industry.

During this time in Yakima, Richard worked closely with Dr, Henry Waelti, an extension agricultural engineer at Washington State University, Pullman. Richard and Henry developed protocol for several studies carried out that compared the benefits of the plastic apple field harvest bin to the traditional wooden apple field harvest bin.

Richard continued his work in outside sales gaining considerable experience in diversified industries, Richard returned to the grassroots of his first professional love to serve the professional real estate community.

Of the many real estate brokerage firms in Sonoma County, Richard chose Frank Howard Allen, Wine Country Group for their high standard in the real estate industry.
